Once again Dr Jo, you have provided clear, concise, informative and straightforward information (I can’t comprehend some of your more technical and complex posts, but hey that’s just my lack of intellect and education).
This post might just be tapping into my own biases, but I think not. The evidence and science behind the evidence, to my mind, is incontrovertible.
It was good to see that you included, in the short refresher list, the unmentionable Boris, I have always referred to him as “trump with an education”
I just hope that the Vaccine Integrity Project avoids the ire of trump and his cohorts.
(Good to hear your MRI outcome was OK; I have an annual MRI following removal of a brain tumour in 2015 and am thankful to the UK NHS for promptly identifying the problem and the appropriate treatment, and that I have not been bankrupted by the cost!!)
Sorry to hear about your spine - I have a similar problem. If I walk/stand for too long (which isn’t long at all), my left thigh goes numb. ‘Numb’ as you could stick something in it and I wouldn’t feel a thing. Fortunately, I can still get around, although if I overdo it, the numb changes to ‘burning fire’.
I’ve also given up arguing with the Covidiots - they’re so entrenched and beyond help. Even though many of them knew my husband, who died from Covid before vaccinations were available in the UK, they can’t/won’t see the problem. Mostly they say that ‘Covid’ is on his death certificate because coroners were paid to say that!
I’d like to add a shoutout to the smug, condescending BS we got here in the US early in the pandemic that permanently destroyed a huge swath of public trust in the authorities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI3yU5Z2adI&t=307s
To what do you attribute the negative excess mortality in New Zealand at the beginning of the graph?
Is it due to the fact that the actions taken in New Zealand to combat covid decreased the number of deaths from flu and other diseases? Or pehaps due to a decrease in the number of traffic accidents since people traveled less?
I think you’re right about the ‘flu. The normal, major contributor to extra deaths in Winter is influenza, especially influenza A. We’ve grown to accept these preventable deaths as ‘normal’, which is a bit sad. During the intensive lockdown, we also did see less trauma (apart from a few people falling from roofs as they took the opportunity to do some home maintenance).
Thank you for the entertaining post! Going back to your post last weekend on healthcare… I feel the need to reveal my own psychopathy: people who choose not to follow expert advice, and hence forgo vaccinations, or smoke, consume alcohol (in whatever is considered “excess” amounts these days), or eat crap are ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN DISEASE….
So when they show up at the ER or need medical treatment for their chronic conditions, they should go to the back of the line, and/or be willing to pay for the cost.
It seems to me that if such a treatment regimen was enforced, two (possibly three) things would happen: (1) the cost of taxpayer-funded healthcare would drop (and medical professionals would get better job satisfaction!); (2) more Covidiots and other MAGgots, etc, would die (this being a GOOD THING!); and (3) some people would change their opinions about vaccinations and personal responsibility for health — for their kids if too late for themselves.

The election was rigged. Grumpy even said so. Evidence is showing up to support that assumption.
